Westhoughton is growing: a friendly, vibrant town that is attracting new residents – and consequently developers keen to exploit and benefit from that growth.
Formed by a group of local residents, SWAN is concerned about planning developments in the Westhoughton area. An apolitical, broad-based local interest group and forum that seeks to ensure that any new building is appropriate, necessary and in line with stated statutory planning policy.
Our successes - argued for on planning grounds - have been many, but the fight goes on... We remain vigilant. We care about our town and the consequences of over-development on:
