Westhoughton is blessed with two drama groups who regularly put on some quite outstanding shows – and right on your doorstep.
Without doubt, these amateur groups work hard, and are particularly important in giving local youngsters a chance to develop their talents before, who knows, fame and fortune beckons! So please, give your support.
Written by Derek Benfield and directed by Bill Greenhalgh, 'Off the Hook!' is a joyous romp, full of plot twists and ever-changing situations. Download synopsis.
May 2010 performances take place:
Friday 14th, and Saturday 15th May (curtains up 7.30pm prompt),
at the Westhoughton Methodist Church Hall on Wigan Road.
Tickets [£4.00* (Adults) & £3.50/£3.50* (OAPs/children)] are available from the Church Hall from
10am to 12 noon on Saturday mornings, or and can be booked by phoning 01942 811051 or 07713 308359.
"On With The Show"Following the success of Cinderella their latest production, another of Westhoughton's very own amateur dramatic groups - The Bethel Crowd - are soon to audition and rehearsal for their next show Dazzle. This summer's show presented by the youth group takes place between Wednesday, 30th June and Saturday, 3rd July. Further details about this new show and The Bethel Crowd are available on their new website.
It's great that young and old, but especially Westhoughton's children, have the opportunity to perform on stage, and maybe get the 'acting bug'.
A group that deserves your ongoing support.
